EVANSVILLE — After reportedly breaking through the front doors of a closed McDonald’s early Monday morning, an Evansville man apparently became frustrated that he couldn’t pry a cash register from the fast-food joint.

So instead he grabbed several yogurt parfaits — a longtime fixture on the chain’s popular dollar menu — from the restaurant, located at 2010 Old Business 41, and fled about 2:30 a.m., according an Evansville Police Department report.

But Christopher A. McGlauflin’s bad morning didn’t end there. He was arrested hours later as police were reviewing the security footage of his alleged fruit and yogurt caper because — according to the probable cause affidavit — he walked in front of the store, still covered in glass.

McGlauflin, 39, is currently in the Vanderburgh County jail and faces preliminary charges of burglary, a class B felony and two class D felonies, criminal mischief, and theft of merchandise totaling less than $50.
