Police are urging people in a South Derbyshire village to be vigilant after thieves stole bottles of milk from the doorsteps of homes. The bottles were stolen from houses in Blakelow Drive, Belfield Road and Lodge Close, in Etwall, between 3:00 am and 7.30 am on Saturday, January 18. Police carried out house-to house inquiries as a result of the incidents.

The theft of milk has been an issue in Etwall previously, with a string of incidents having taken place in May last year. Officers are urging members of the public to be on the lookout for suspicious activity and to report suspected incidents as they happen.

A Derbyshire Police spokesman said: “This has been an issue in the area previously and one we do not want to arise again. Police do not want the problem to start again and are carrying out investigations to find those responsible. We would urge residents to report suspicious activity as it happens.”
